What is the Stoppelveldrit
The Stoppelveldrit is the touring ride of Lions Club Raalte. It is named after the fields it crosses: by late August the grain is off the land and the stubble is all that remains — flat, golden and unmistakably Salland.
The recipe has barely changed in all those years. Paved roads, quiet traffic, a rest stop halfway, and at the end the same square you left from. You do not need to be a racer, and nobody is timing you.
Whatever the ride raises goes to a good cause in the region. That is why the club organises it, and why volunteers turn out along the route every year.

Every route leaves from and finishes at the same place in Raalte. The price is identical for all three, so choose purely on the distance your legs feel like today.

Good cause
This year's proceeds go to de BeleefTV for De Parabool in Raalte.
De Parabool supports people with an intellectual disability. A BeleefTV is a mobile, interactive table full of games, music and video, which adapts to what someone is able to do and needs.
Clients can use it on their own, or together with fellow clients, support workers, volunteers and family. It encourages movement, attention and recognition, and above all it creates contact and genuinely meaningful day activity.
One table, used for years and very nearly every day. What we raise on 23 August goes straight to the clients of De Parabool.
In 2025 the proceeds of the Stoppelveldrit went to het Anton Riet Huis — het respijthuis van Hospice De Cirkel in Raalte.
The Stoppelveldrit is organised from start to finish by volunteers from Lions Club Raalte. Nobody is paid for it.
The entire net proceeds go to that cause: what remains once the costs of the day have been paid.
You can add an extra contribution while registering. That is entirely voluntary — nothing is expected of you.
Practical
The start location will be confirmed once all arrangements are settled.
Coming by car? We will announce the parking options near the start as soon as the location is final. By bike you will be there fastest anyway.
Taking part in the ride, and the route. Food and drink en route and at the finish are at your own expense — that way you know exactly where you stand beforehand.
You can. At the start you pay the same €10. Registering in advance just saves you queuing, and helps us prepare.
The ride goes ahead in almost any weather. Only genuinely extreme conditions would call it off. If that happens you get your entry fee back, and any extra contribution still goes to the good cause.

Absolutely. E-bikes are welcome on all three distances. This is a touring ride, not a race.

From 16 you ride independently. If you are younger, you ride accompanied by an adult, who also handles the registration.
Yes. If you cannot make it, another cyclist may ride in your place. Just let us know who. Entry fees are not refunded.
